Guilty as Charged

Yep, I am guilty - yet again - of not updating my blog. If this were a crime, I'd be serving a life sentence now.
Admittedly, I need to do some catching up with the market trends (Hola Bloomberg, CNBC, and WSJ!) in order to post regularly.
So bye for now but I'll be back real soon with a vengeance!

Cheers!

Ignorance Ain't Bliss

Just to be clear from the start, I am not a finance expert. Through this blog, I simply want to rekindle my passion for finance and use it as a means to promote my personal advocacy of empowering Filipino women in managing their finances.

Future Women Leaders
I've seen a lot of driven and hardworking women my age move up the career ladder and yet lag in terms of financial IQ. It's sad to see some of these people live from one paycheck to another and get buried neck deep in debt. At worst, there are some women whose debts have cost them their career.

You see, career success and financial independence are two different things. Any fabulous lady can rise up to the career ladder quickly but lack the financial smarts. But guess what..... You can achieve 'em both! How? By educating oneself.

One thing's for sure, ignorance ain't bliss. It starts with learning and this blog is exactly what you're gonna need.

Cheers!

A new blog is born

Hello friends!

After so much contemplation, I have finally decided to put up a blog that's dedicated to one of my passions - finance. My friends and people I've interacted with notice the twinkle in my eyes every time I talk about related topics such as markets, equities, and fixed income.

In my former life, I was a Relationship Manager for one of the major foreign banks here in the Philippines providing sound financial advice to its retail clients. I worked there for a good six years until I decided to seek a different career path. At present, I work for a consultancy firm that specializes in helping companies seek business in emerging markets such as Africa and Latin America.

I do miss talking about finance so this blog would be a great avenue to do so while at the same time educating Filipino women on how to be smart and practical with their finances.

So join me as I help fellow Filipinas become more finance-savvy one step at a time.

Cheers!
